Espresso Coffee Pods for Espresso Machines - Save 30% on Nespresso®* Compatible Capsules

Espresso has become an ever sought-after drink in recent years and is now an integral part of the café culture around the world. Coffee itself is one of the most commonly loved things available to man kind, so it's no surprise that throughout it's history people have developed different ways to brew and serve it. The main difference between an espresso and the conventional filter coffee is the different brewing and grinding processes. The espresso is ground very finely and uses very hot water that is pushed quickly through the grounds with a great deal of pressure. Espresso gets its special aroma and distinctive crema through this process.

The espresso is typically believed to be the most caffeinated coffee drink available. This is only partially true. A typical Italian shot of espresso measures at .8 fluid ounces which contains about 53mg of caffeine.

Gourmesso Espresso

Gourmesso offers a variety of different blends that differ in composition, flavour and intensity. Each capsule contains 5g of finely ground espresso coffee, which guarantees an exceptional brew every time. Our intensity scale ranges from 1-10 and is similar to that of the Nespresso®* capsules. We also offer a rich and flavorful decaf espresso. If you're not a fan of caffeine, you can still enjoy a robust coffee taste with this decaf option. Try our bundles! If you have any questions about our espresso, or anything coffee-related, please contact us. We are here to help!

The Perfect Drink

Whether you want to enjoy our Nespresso®* compatible capsules in either the espresso or lungo style, it is best to serve the coffee in a small, pre-heated porcelain cup. This will keep the coffee warmer longer and will help preserve the luscious crema. You can mix your espresso or lungo with milk and enjoy a smooth, creamy treat. However, don’t heat your milk higher than 60°C to preserve its proteins. If you're looking for something new and different, you can also try using almond milk or soy in a latte, and add just a dash of cinnamon or allspice. Try one of our more intense espresso pods with any type of milk based drink so that you don't lose that distinct coffee flavour.

The History of Espresso

The espresso origins date back to 16th century Italy when the drink was exclusively prepared with water vapour. Contrary to popular belief, the word espresso does not refer to “quick coffee” but instead comes from the Italian verb “esprimere” meaning express, as the beverage would only be served at the expressed request of a guest. Engineer Luigi Bezzera of Milan is considered to be the inventor of the espresso machine. The first machines were launched in the Italian market in 1901 and were quickly found all around the world shortly afterwards.

Espresso Pods

The typical way in which espresso has been served has long been at the coffee house. If you wanted to enjoy a smooth, rich shot of hot espresso coffee it would require a trip to the local coffee shop and you handing over a sizable amount of change. With the introduction of espresso machines like the ones from Nespresso, you can now enjoy the comforts of delicious coffee right in your own home. The espresso coffee pods that we use here at Gourmesso are made to work seamlessly with any of the OriginalLine Nespresso®* machines. The 15 different espresso pods that we offer are made with coffee that has been sourced from some of the best growing regions around the world.

Espresso Coffee Maker

We want to offer every coffee drinker a wide selection of choices to fill their days with enjoyable beverages. We hope that Gourmesso might even become your favourite espresso pods out there! While you might expect the best espresso to come from a professional machine at your local coffee house, we confident that you can enjoy your daily experience with our coffee capsules.

Coffee has been cultivated and consumed in different ways since the early 15th century. It's use as a drink quickly spread around the world, and today is an integral part of almost every society on the planet. Coffee is something that brings people together, and the different ways in which we have developed in order to consume it are considered an art form to many. The invention of the industrial espresso machines is credited to the Italians in the 1700s. Coffee has long been an important part of Italian society, and developing a machine to produce espresso at a commercial scale seems only natural.

Home Espresso Machine

The home espresso machine trend has become increasingly popular over the last twenty years, both in the UK and world wide. The advancement of technology that has created the 'pump' feature that quickly and smoothly provides enough power and hot water is what has made the home espresso machine so popular. It is now becoming common to find a single-serve coffee brewing system in most house holds around the world.
