What is a Lungo?

A Caffè Lungo is an extended version of the espresso that is actually prepared in the same way. Coming from Italian the word Lungo means "long“. The amount of the coffee powder in the capsule is the same, however, it required twice the amount of water. Due to the increased amount of water more aromas are released as opposed to the simple espresso. The Caffè Lungo is not as intense and therefore more digestible, but this somewhat bitter in taste. Our capsules are filled with high quality coffee!

Only the finest Arabica and Robusta beans are used for Gourmesso espresso. The best growing areas are in South America, India and Africa near the equator. The beans are then specially processed, roasted and packed, so you can enjoy their full flavour. The our compatible Nespresso®* lungo capsules are delicious on their own but we also have a collection of recipes inspired by our coffee varieties.
