What is a Lungo Espresso?

A Lungo is an espresso that is produced with twice the amount of water, but with the same amount of coffee. Adding extra water releases other coffee flavours, making it less intense and taste slightly bitter. The word "lungo" comes from the Italian word for "long". The Gourmesso Lungo coffee varieties are easy to digest and are compatible with Nespresso®* machines. At only £ 0.21 per coffee capsule, you will save more than 30% over what you usually spend on Nespresso®* capsules.

Lungo Espresso - The Benefits

A lungo espresso is not only an aromatic beverage, but it can also help you stay healthy, along with coffee drinks in general. Caffeine is known to stimulate circulation and that can help lower blood pressure. Several studies have shown that the consumption of coffee can even prevent the development of Type 2 Diabetes. People are often surprised to learn that espresso is even less harmful than regular coffee due to its lower acid levels, which are altered by the longer and stronger roasting process of Arabica and Robusta beans.
