You can visit our website without entering any personal information. We only store access data which is not personally identifiable, such as the [name of your Internet service provider, the site from which you are visiting us or the name of the requested file]. This data is evaluated for the exclusive purpose of improving our services and not to provide us with any information about your person. In some cases, however, we do need data from you:
- When using your customer account
- When placing an order
- When subscribing to our newsletter
- When you contact us
When placing an order, we require your correct name, address and payment details. We require your email address so that we can confirm receipt of your order and communicate with you. We also use this to identify you (customer login). In addition, we use your email address to send you order and shipping confirmation emails. We use the data provided by you without your explicit consent exclusively for fulfilling and processing your order.
Your personal data will be deleted, insofar as legal storage obligations do not preclude this and if you have filed a request for the deletion of your data, if the data is no longer required to fulfill the purpose for which it was stored or if its storage is inadmissible on other legal grounds. We will not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes without your express permission.
For customers who complete the corresponding registration process, we provide direct password-protected access to their personal data (customer account) stored by us. In the "My Account" area, you can view details of your orders, as well as manage your address, payment details and newsletter subscriptions. You are obliged to handle your personal access details confidentially and not to make them available to third parties. We will not assume liability for the improper use of passwords unless we are responsible for said improper use. A user account and the details stored therein can be deleted at any time.
Newsletters and Recommendations
When sending out newsletters, we use the so-called double opt-in approach, meaning we will only send you a newsletter by email once you have explicitly confirmed that we should activate our newsletter service for you. We will then send you a notification email, asking you to confirm that you would like to receive our newsletter by clicking a link contained in said email. When you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address will be used for our internal advertising purposes until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
In case of an already existing business relationship between you as the customer and Gourmesso, we may send you recommendation e-mails (special discounts and offers, new products from the same category you had previously ordered) based on your previous order(s). You can also unsubscribe from the recommendation e-mails at any time by clicking the UNSUBSCRIBE-link at the bottom of the e-mail.
Disclosure of Personal Data
Your data will be disclosed to the shipping company responsible for the delivery as far as this is necessary for the delivery of your goods. For the settlement of payments we disclose your payment details to the relevant banking institution.
Secure Data Transfer
Your personal data are transferred securely when you place an order with us. All data transferred during the order process are transferred using 128 bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption.
We use so-called cookies on some pages in order to make visiting our website more attractive and to enable the use of certain functions. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer. Some of the cookies used by us are deleted at the end of your browser session, in other words, when you close your browser (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your computer and enable us or our partner companies to identify your browser the next time you visit our site (persistent cookies).
You can configure your browser so that you are informed about the storage of cookies and decide whether to accept these on a case-by-case basis or to reject all incoming cookies. If you choose not to accept cookies, this may restrict the functionality of our website.

In the course of doing so, these vendors may come into contact with your information. Whoever, we only give them access to (or allow them to collect on our behalf) the information they need in order to perform the specific tasks they have been hired to do. They may not use it for other purposes.
